With over 73 years of history, we have seen many changes happen. When George Nottoli Sr. began manufacturing and delivering Italian meats out of the back of a truck, the world had just come out of World War II, and life was only beginning to get back to normal.

1947

The Original Nottoli & Son, 1947

In The Beginning

George Nottoli Sr begins manufacturing and delivering sausage as well as other Italian meats and cheeses.

1950

"THE SHOP"

George and son Anthony borrow $3000 to open Nottoli Sausage Shop at 3805 W. Chicago Ave.

Anthony marries Loretta Pacini and she begins working in the store.

1958

Our Lady of Angels fire

TRAGEDY STRIKES

Our Lady of Angels Fire devestates the American-Italian community and the world.

1961

THE SAUSAGE KING IS BORN

George Nottoli Jr. is born. George will work in the family business since childhood and will eventually take the reigns as the 3rd generation family business owner.

1966

A SAD DAY

George Nottoli Sr. passes away

1967

SELLING OF THE SHOP

Anthony sells store to Peter Concialdi.

1967-1971

WHOLESALE FOCUS

Anthony continues manufacturing sausage on Randolph Street Market strictly for wholesale.

1971

"THE SHOP", PART 2

Anthony purchases Belmont Ave. location renting the front of store to Vesuvio Macaroni and making sausage in the back.

1972-1973

The Original Nottoli & Son, shop sign

A NEW OPPORTUNITY

Vesuvio Macaroni moves out. Storefront remains empty for a year.

In 1973, Anthony and Loretta open storefront for business.

1976

3RD GENERATION INDOCTRINATION

George Jr begins working in store.

1984

The Original Nottoli & Son, graduation day

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

George graduates from college and comes back to help run the store.

1988

The Original Nottoli & Son, sausage king

A NEW BEGINNING

Anthony retires.George takes over business.

1993

TIMES ARE CHANGING

Nottoli begins selling sub sandwiches.

2000

MOVING FORWARD

Nottoli expands kitchen and menu items.

2004

THE SAUSAGE KING

Nottoli sets world record for Worlds Longest Sausage 64 ft 11 inches
